Getting Started:

Getting a Quick Hit Counter up and running on your Web site is a quick and simple process. If you know how to "paste code" into a page; you shouldn't have any trouble. It's completely free, and it won't take more than a minute or two to complete your registration.

Step 1.
If you haven't already, start by signing up a new account for yourself.

During registration you'll need to provide a few quick details about your site, then choose the counter style you'd like to use.
Counter styles identified by (stealth mode) are designed to track and keep statistics; but to not display a page count to the public when used. Choose whichever style you'd prefer. (You can always change the style afterwards through your account settings.)

Step 2.
Immediately after registration you'll be presented with a recap of your account details, including a system-generated password for your account login. Keep this in a safe place (you can change it to something easier to remember after logging-in if desired).

You'll also be provided with the few lines of HTML code to copy and paste on to your Web site. This will generate the counter when loaded. Simply copy the code as-is, then paste in into your Web pages HTML wherever you'd like the counter to appear.

That's It!
Each time the page is viewed the code is called, which in turn contacts our servers to return the appropriate count, image, and to record the visitors data for your statistics. Just Log-In at any time to view your traffic details.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I keep other people from viewing my statistics?
During sign-up, check off the box marked "Make statistics password protected". You can also change this option after registration by logging in to your account under "Change Counter Options".

Are the Hit Counters and stats really 100% FREE?
Yes our hit counters and stats are free. You will never have to pay anything for the use of our services. However each of our web counter comes with a small text link beneath the counter which our sponsors pay for. This small link located below the counter is how we pay for our expensive and reliable hosting as well as on going development costs. You are not allowed to remove this link or modify the code - placing the link on your web site is what makes us capable of providing our service for free.

Can I alter the HTML code provided by QuickHitCounters.com?
Please remember never to alter the code (minor modifications such as changing the link color below the counter are fine as long as you don't make the textlink invisible, however making any changes to the URL will result in your account being disabled).

Can I use the same code on multiple pages?
Yes - our system identifies the individual page the counter was called from each time, so you do not need to use separate code to distinguish each page on the same site.

Can I use the same code on multiple sites?
You can - though it's probably a better idea to set up individual accounts for each distinct site/domain you are using a counter on.

What is the 'Stealth Mode' hit tracker about?
If you pick the "Stealth Mode" hit counter your counter becomes invisible - however please note that you will still have to display a visible text link below the invisible hit tracker.

Can I use the code in my emails?
NO - please do not use the counter inside emails. Doing so will result in your account being automatically closed.
